Winter Stage Three Watering Restrictions Now in Effect in Plano

November Watering Schedule

Plano remains under Stage 3 water conservation measures and it is time to transition to our winter watering schedule. Under the winter schedule, residential and commercial customers are allowed to water with sprinklers once every other week.

Odd addresses may water every other Tuesday beginning Nov. 5. Even addresses may water every other Thursday beginning Nov. 14. To help you adjust to the new schedule, which will remain through March 2014, the City has prepared a watering calendar with guidelines for outdoor water use on the water page.

The winter schedule allows you to water any time of day on your designated watering day. Planting cool season grasses, such as rye grass, will remain prohibited. We share our water supply with other North Texas Municipal Water District member cities who are taking similar conservation measures. Your cooperation is critical to avoiding more stringent water restrictions

Stage 3 Water Restrictions begin June 1st

Effective June 1, 2013 the City of Plano will implement Stage 3 water conservation measures allowing for once a week watering until further notice. The City of Plano will require all residential and business customers to implement these outdoor water restrictions in hopes of reducing water use by at least 10 percent and increasing awareness of ongoing water conservation efforts. Watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will still be prohibited. A complete list of Stage 3 water restrictions is available at www.plano.gov

Odd Addresses:   Tuesdays Beginning June 4
Even Addresses:   Thursdays Beginning June 6

The FMHOA Board spoke with the City of Plano this week and verified that along with the once a week sprinkler watering restrictions you may water by hand held hose or soaker hose up to 2 hours a day as needed. Let's all follow these new water conservation restrictions while at the same time making the extra effort to keep our lawns and homes in tip top shape!

Neighborhood Repairs

Many of you may have noticed that some of the tree lights and the Fairfax Meadows sign light at the Sun Meadows entrance are not working. We have contacted the lighting company and they will be out this week to make repairs.

We have also been in contact with the City of Plano to do repairs to the brick wall along the alley of Fair Valley Way. They have assured us we are on the list for repairs and have asked us to be patient as they have many brick wall repairs going on in the City of Plano.

Watering Guideline Changes

Per the City of Plano:
Effective immediately, the City of Plano will allow irrigation between the hours of 10am and 6pm through March 1st to reduce icing of streets and sidewalks during winter months. All other Stage 2 watering restrictions remain in place including restriction to two days per week.

Water restrictions are expected to continue through 2013 due to low lake levels. Everyone is encouraged to operate irrigation systems manually in order to provide efficient and cost-effective watering.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy NEW YEAR!
